  1. I run a portal - can you support it? 

    Yes, we can support most portals depending on the data type that they can accept

    We support a number of different formats, the most commonly used being the RightMove v3 format.

    If you would like us to add support for your website, contact us and provide us with the FTP details so that we can send a test batch of data. Once the test has been confirmed, we will contact our agents with details about your site, suggesting they get in touch if they would like to subscribe. If you were to offer a free trial or discount period that may help convince them!

  2. How much does the service cost? 

    Details of the service costs can be found on the Pricing page.

    From time to time we have special offers which you will be notified of in advance of your forthcoming portals quarter.

  3. How much do the different portals cost in subscriptions? 

    This varies considerably and portals change their pricing from time to time. We suggest contacting them for a quote.

    Please note that there are portals that don't charge agents a subscription fee.

  4. Are there any portals that are free to upload to? 

    Yes.

    Currently, Fish4, ThinkProperty, Globrix, PropertyToday, MousePrice, Surf4aProperty and Hacienda do not charge agents to subscribe to their sites. Note, some may not charge for uploads, but may charge per lead-generated (e.g. Fish4).

    Also, it is worth bearing in mind that many of the charging-portals will still offer a free trial period - often of several months.

    As these portals are free to register with, all agents would pay to have their properties on these sites would be our nominal monthly processing fee.

  5. Do you support uploads to portal XYZ? 

    Please check our portals list for our supported feeds.

    If you would like to upload your properties to a new portal that we don't currently support, please contact us about it. Support for the portal will depend on the feed format and logistics/development time involved. However, we are always eager to meet our customers' needs.

  6. How often does my property data on portal X get updated 

    The BVS Portals service runs twice daily at 6am and 2pm, uploading agents’ data to the portals.

    Some portals (e.g. Fish4Homes, Northcliffe etc) process this uploaded data immediately. Some, read in data periodically though-out the day (e.g. RightMove). Some only read in the data once; usually during the night (e.g. PrimeLocation).

  7. Why have none of my properties appeared on portal X yet? 

    Assuming you are registered with the portals, there are three possibilities for properties not appearing:

    1. We have not enabled your feed yet. We require confirmation from the portals in question that your branch has been set-up, and the relevant ID number before we can transmit your data. If you have only just registered with the portal, this may be the case.
    2. After setting up a new feed; some portals wish to verify the data being sent before making the properties visible on the site.
    3. Finally, there is a delay between adding/updating your properties to the Property System and them being transmitted to, and processed by the portal. For certain portals that only read in data once a day (e.g. PrimeLocation), this delay may be up to 24 hours.

    Solution:

    Please be patient. If the properties have not appeared on the site after 2-3 working days, please contact us to find out if there is a problem.

  8. Why hasn't property Y appeared on portal X yet? 

    There are two main possibilities:

    1. There is a delay between adding/updating your properties to the Property System and them being transmitted to, and processed by the portal. For certain portals that only read in data once a day (e.g. PrimeLocation), this delay may be up to 24 hours.
    2. The property in question is not marked for upload to your subscribed portals.

    Solution:

    Instructions on enabling properties for upload can be found on the instructions page.

  9. Why does property Y have missing images on one/some of my portals? 

    There are two possibilities

    1. There is a delay between adding your properties to the Property System and them being transmitted to, and processed by the portal. For certain portals that only read in data once a day (e.g. PrimeLocation), this delay may be up to 24 hours.
    2. Secondly, the property may require "refreshing" on the portal.
